The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), the national oil company, has expressed its worry over the prevalent low grade and contaminated automotive gas oil (diesel) sold at discounted prices in parts of the country
Billy Oloye, managing director of NNPC retail, the NNPC fully owned subsidiary in the downstream sector that operating in the retail end advised consumers to be conscious of the contaminated AGO as it is harmful to machines and the environment.
Oloye said Nigerian consumers of AGO should only buy from accredited distributors.
AGO is deregulated in the country, and both the NNPC and other major and independent marketers allowed to import it.
