ADIPEC 2017 to assemble global energy giants

The Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) will be held in 13-16 November 2017, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), providing opportunities for industry experts to indulge in strategic dialogues on a wide range of industry trends and challenges

The conference will be hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc), under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, president of the UAE, with support from the UAE Ministry of Energy, the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority.

The event provides opportunities for ministers and industry leaders from the world’s oil and gas giants to build up strategic relationship for the growth of the industry. More than 45 ministerial and CEO sessions are expected to be held in the November 2017 meeting, which aims to cement Abu Dhabi’s leadership status as a global energy giant.

Ali Khalifa Al Shamsi, CEO of Al Yasat and chairman of ADIPEC 2017, said, “Abu Dhabi has always served as an international gathering place for the energy world’s best and brightest. But, this year, ADIPEC is shifting gears to facilitate additional ministerial and C-level executive networking. We believe that this annual event is where global energy strategies are proposed and agreed each year.”

Al Shamsi further added that the objective of ADIPEC is to set the international standard for the exchange of best-practice and operational excellence in the world of energy.

He said that all the technical abstract submissions for the conference will be put through a rigorous evaluation process by the Technical Programme Committee, noting that more than 3,000 technical abstract submissions are made for 2017, with more than half submitted from outside the UAE.

ADIPEC 2017 will include offshore, marine and security, with of global downstream technical sessions, conversation on downstream expansion, diversification, technology innovation and research and development.

Some of the key features of the event are ADIPEC awards to celebrate excellence in energy, association of women force in the energy sector, young ADIPEC programme to encourage students to choose career in energy and a conference programme for the members of the Middle East Petroleum Club, a VIP club for oil and gas decision makers.
