PLAN signs MoU with Energy & Corporate Africa to organise NIPITECSĀ 2017 conference in Nigeria

Pipeline Professionals Association of Nigeria (PLAN) has partnered with Energy & Corporate Africa to organise Nigeria International Pipeline Technology and Security Conference (NIPITECS 2017) on 13 -14 September 2017, at Nicon Luxury Abuja in Nigeria

The conference will entail technical sessions, panel discussions and exhibitions to provide a platform for learning, gaining insight and networking among policy makers, operators, investors, banks and governments for better investment opportunities.

Geoff Onuoha, chairman of PLAN, said that the NIPITECS 2017 conference will showcase pipeline technology and security investment opportunities in Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa and its integration with the global market.

The conference aims to highlight the challenges and solutions on pipelines and associated infrastructural development in the entire region through the project updates, design, engineering, technology, innovations, economics and asset integrity.

Sunny Oputa, CEO of Energy & Corporate Africa, explained that pipelines are vital network in the transportation of crude oil and natural gas from well head to storage. He said that the pipelines are also important for various other utilisations such as domestic, commercial and inter-regional distributions of oil and gas.

Oputa further added that the pipelines are significant among the upstream, midstream and downstream, helping to ease transportation and distribution of crude oil and natural gas domestically as well as regionally, with an aim to reduce cost, enhance safety, ensure operational efficiency in the supply chain and energise socio-economic development.

The conference will focus on various dimensions of the pipeline technology in terms of sub-sea engineering, supply chain, procurement, contracts, regulatory framework, security in relation to community relations and local content.

The participating companies of the NIPITECS 2017 conference are Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Department of Petroleum Resources, Shell Nigeria Limited, OilServ, BG Technical, Pipelines Pigging & Accessories Ltd, Topline, Brentex Petroleum and others.
