Algeria well delivers for Petroceltic

INDEPENDENT EXPLORER PETROCELTIC International has hit a 155 m gross gas column during drilling of the AT-4 well in the Illizi basin in Algeria.

The well, which is the first of a four well programme, was drilled to a total depth of 2142 m. Following completion of the well, the company has now started drilling of the AT-5 well. The AT-4 well has now been suspended, pending rigless fracture stimulation and flow testing over the coming month.

Drilling of AT-5, which commenced on 9 January is expected to take around 65 days.
