Camac Energy signs exploration contract offshore Nigeria

Camac Energy said that the contract allows for exploration of up to three wells. The company also plans to accelerate production from the Oyo-7 and Oyo-8 development wells located offshore Nigeria.

Kase Lawal, CEO of Camac Energy, added, “Camac Energy is fully committed to bringing on production from our next three development wells as soon as possible, and we are pleased to secure this additional rig to accomplish our goals. The Sedco Express is a highly-efficient rig, and we may also utilise it to accelerate our exploration programme.”

The Sedco Express is an ultra deepwater, semi-submersible drilling rig built in 2000, stated Camac Energy.

Camac Energy’s asset portfolio consists of nine licenses across four African countries, which includes current production and other exploration projects offshore Nigeria, as well as exploration licenses offshore Ghana, Kenya, Gambia and onshore Kenya.
