The independent explorer has reportedly contracted Dolphin Geophysical to carry out a 2,128km 2D seismic acquisition campaign in water depths ranging from 150 metres to 1,850 metres and the survey would take 21 days for completion.

Artemis Atlantic would acquire broadband seismic data across the block in order to provide further detail on the shallower petroleum system, Dolphin Geophysical said.

By combining this data with a further 1,500km of 2D seismic data that Chariot Oil & Gas was currently reprocessing, specific regions of interest would be determined for designing a focussed 3D programme in the future, it added.

Chariot Oil & Gas is the operator of the block with an 85 per cent interest. National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) and Quiver Oil hold a 10 per cent and five per cent carried interest respectively.
