As reported by Alliance News Limited, the new hole section reached the initial target depth, securing the targeted D1000 and D2000 reservoirs.

The source further added that the company is expected to further establish oil drilling target for future in the E2000 reservoir. The well is scheduled to be completed by the end of May 2018, stressed the source.

George Maxwell, CEO of Eland, commented that the company hopes to achieve the short-term target of 30,000 bpd from the Opuama field. Eland will start drilling Opuama-10 field once drilling of Opuama-9 is completed, Maxwell added.

The drilling programme is in line with Eland’s aim to explore more oil and gas potential in the West Africa region.
