The well was drilled in November 2012 and has been tested the potential of the pre-salt Gamba and Dentale Formations.

The Saipem Scarabeo 3 semi-submersible drilling unit, located in 115.8 metres of water, was used for the drilling process and the DTM-1 well reached a vertical depth of 3,432 metres.

Harvest encountered an estimated 12.8 metres of pay in a 21.9 metres oil column within the Gamba formation and 37.5 metres of pay in stacked reservoirs within the Dentale formation.

The company said that it would provide an update in the near future and revealed a technical evaluation would be required to assess this discovery.

Harvest operates the Dussafu PSC and holds a 66.667 per cent stake.
