Libya keeps door open to BP

Shokri Ghanem, the head of Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC), recently said he was happy to allow BP to continue working in the north African nation, adding that he believed the Macondo spill in the Gulf of Mexico was "exaggerated somewhat".

Reuters quoted Ghanem saying he had been asked if Libya would continue to allow BP to drill in its waters, to which he responded he would.

"In a way, while it is a real tragedy, in another way, it is also exaggerated somewhat," he said of the blown-out well.

Ghanem was speaking at the National Oil Companies Congress in London today.
