Oil Exploration Blocks

Energy minister Lual A Deng has said that he hopes to encourage further Indian investment in the country and that his ministry may begin offering licences for four new oil exploration blocks to Indian companies. State-run Oil & Natural Gas Corp, which already owns a 25 per cent stake in Sudan’s Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company, is among the Indian firms which will make presentations to the Sudanese government. Indian Oil Corporation, Oil India and GAIL are also expected to submit bids.
