The rehabilitation work on the field’s production facility has been recently completed, the Nigeria-focused explorer said.

The facility was shut down by Shell amid security concerns since 2006.

According to the company statement, the immediate objective is to re-commission OML 40 production facilities with a target gross production of 2,500 bpd before the end of the Q1 2014, and to then increase production through further development, appraisal and exploration to reach a target gross production of 50,000 bpd within four years.

The pre-commissioning and testing phase, which includes the testing of the final section of the 12-inch export line, has now started and upon completion, production is expected to start fully on the field, the statement added.
