Lagos-based oil and gas company Aiteo is supporting the Nigerian football team, the Super Eagles, by sponsoring the theme song for the teams World Cup campaign

The theme song, "Dem Go Hear Am" ("Go show them"), was created by Nigerian hip-hop/Afrobeat stars, Olamide and Phyno and has already been downloaded more than one million times. As well as sponsoring the theme song, Aiteo has pledged to donate US$50,000 to the team for every unreturned goal scored at the World Cup, which opens today in Russia.

Benedict Peters, executive vice chairman of Aiteo Global Group, said: "As the World Cup kicks off, we solidly throw our weight behind our national team and its ever-effervescent supporters spread across the globe."

The sponsorship is part of a bigger programme by the company to support  the development of Nigerian football. Amaju Pinnick, president of Nigeria's Football Federation, said: "Aiteo has been magnanimous, not just to the Super Eagles but in their contributions towards the revitalisation of football in Nigeria and Africa."
