(Image source: QR9iudjz0/sxc.hu)UK-based Subsea Riser Products (SRP) has won a multi-million dollar contract from France’s Total to supply a drilling riser and deployment tooling for the company’s Moho Nord project off Congo-Brazzaville

This is the first time that Total, an oil and gas super-major, has awarded SRP a direct contract, company sources said.

Johnny Shield, SRP's managing director, said that the award confirmed the ability to engineer and provide complex turnkey riser projects.

SRP, a subsidiary of the Acteon Group, said it would provide a 3,500 psi drilling riser and 43 joints for drilling from a tension leg platform to be installed at the field, which is situated 75km off the coast of Pointe Noire in 780 metres of water.

The equipment, to be built in the UK, is due for delivery in 2015.

Total's Moho Nord development will boast a new tension-leg wellhead platform alongside a new floating production unit, both being built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in South Korea.

First oil at the development is expected in 2015, with output expected to reach 140,000 boepd by 2017.
