Craig International Supplies (CIS), a subsidiary of shipping and energy services firm Craig Group, has been named ‘Supplier of the Year’ at the recent 2013 Africa Oil & Gas Awards in Cape Town
The panelists included ministers and senior officials from within the energy industry.
Earlier this year, CIS had opened an office in Ghana that serves as a procurement hub for its clients in the country and in Nigeria, Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire. The company also has bases in Houston, Cape Town and Poland, with plans to set up operations in Mozambique and Australia soon.
CIS holds supplies worth US$1mn, according to company sources.
Thinus von Waltsleben, country manager for CIS, said, “Our commitment to adding value and reducing costs in the supply chain has seen us not only source and supply oilfield products and equipment for our customers, but also help them in areas like travel and in setting up remote camps.”
Craig Group chairman Douglas Craig added that this was a major achievement for a family-owned business.
Craig said, “At the heart of our international strategy is our adherence to local culture and business needs.”
