IP Week 2018 to focus on the transition of global energy industry

The annual International Petroleum (IP) Week will be held in London from 20 – 22 February 2018

Organised by Energy Institute, IP Week aims to bring together high-level industry figures and important thinkers on energy.

According to the industry leaders, the event will help the oil and gas industry to navigate the global energy transition, as well as issues such operating in a lower price environment, the role of oil and gas in tackling climate change and the importance of staying ahead in technology and innovation.

More than 100 expert speakers from the most influential corporations including the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, BP, Shell, IEA, OPEC, Vitol, Total, ENI, Statoil and IBM are expected to attend the event.

As part of the event, the Energy Institute is expected to hold a conference titled Realising the potential for Sub-Saharan Africa’s oil and gas industry.

Topics addressed in the summit include:

· Geopolitics of energy in sub-Sharan Africa

· National Oil Companies’ strategies for attracting international investment in Africa

· The Return of Exploration Drilling to West Africa – Ghana post Jubilee

· The industry’s latest exploration hotspot – Walvis Basin, Offshore Namibia

· Outlook for the MSGBC Basin

· Opportunities in downstream
