Libya's oil production has been severely restricted for several years by an on-and-off blockade of its major export terminals.

The Waha field, which is operated by the Waha Oil Company, is one of the main contributors of export grade oil from the Es Sider port. Reuters reported that it is the first of the Es Sider fields to resume production.

The oil official, who declined to be identified, confirmed that output from the Waha field is being redirected to the Ras Lanuf export terminal instead of Es Sider because of limited storage.
